BOB’S_REPOSITORY

With BOB’S_REPOSITORY the application BOB’S_WORLD and all the other products (e.g., BOB’S_GOAL, etc.) are managed and maintained in an enterprise by the system administrator. BOB’S_REPOSITORY contains the setup of BOB’S_WORLD, the entire system entities, and data definitions. Before the BOB’S_WORLD application can be started the required resource files (labels, help, etc.) are generated.

Furthermore, BOB’S_REPOSITORY makes it possible that an enterprise’s customizations and developments can be preserved and maintained. The customer never changes BOB’S_WORLD standard! Every installation of BOB’S_WORLD at an enterprise is called a “Project.”

When a customer wants to change a standard object like a label, page, or help file, the respective entity is first copied to the enterprise’s project. Then the entity can be modified. After regenerating the resource files, the BOB’S_WORLD system knows from which location the object has to be retrieved.
